This setup works nicely, it requires a few things but I had most of these thing lying around or already in use. Yes I know I am using a PI here, but just as to send http rest commands to kodi which is already doing similar stuff for my home automation things). Ideally I would like to use the Samsung remote to control Kodi running on my PC. But for the past few years I have tried a few solutions to use the TV remote. They have become accustomed to using a tablet or phone to control Kodi. I game and code on 2 monitors while the kids have access to Kodi on the TV. I have my main pc connected to the TV via a long HDMI cable. Been running this setup for a while and I cant be the only one having this issue.
